The pyrometer test "is indispensable". The gate valve leaks, and the temperature of the adjacent follow-up pipeline through the pyrometer is significantly increased or decreased.

The stethoscope "follows". We determined the inner leakage of the gate valve through the first and second step method checks, but we still cannot fully confirm it. At this time, the “stethoscope” test is very important. You can choose a screwdriver as a "stethoscope". Put one end of the screwdriver perpendicular to the pipeline, and the other end close to your own ear. Listen carefully to see if there is an abnormal sound in the pipeline. If so, you can judge whether the valve has leaked inside.

In accordance with these three steps, it is basically possible to accurately determine whether the gate valve is leaking!

How does temperature identify endoleak?

The method for determining the internal leakage of the valve is: after the valve is closed for 4-6 hours, measure the valve stem (close to the valve body) or the metal temperature 150mm downstream of the valve body with an infrared temperature measuring instrument, if it is greater than 70°C, it is deemed as "endoleak" ". This method of judgment is applicable to most endoleak valves, but in actual work, we encountered the following special cases: side-by-side access to sparse and drained trap doors or drain doors, when the last valve position Close to the mother tube, as long as any branch of the pipeline leakage valve, the other valve temperature will rise and even exceed 70 °C, such as the boiler drain valve, superheated steam and other hydrophobic. Therefore, the internal leakage of these valves must be determined in other ways, such as measuring the temperature in front of the door or the temperature of the stem in front of the door to determine the internal leakage.
